Lucknow: Former Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma has admitted that he has not been able to perform well in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Let us tell you that just before this season, Mumbai had removed Rohit from the captaincy and in his place appointed star all-rounder Hardik Pandya as its new captain. This was the first time in the last 10 years that Rohit was playing as a batsman for Mumbai. However, he has talked about his poor performance this season and accepted it.

Mumbai played its last match in IPL 2024 on Friday against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Wankhede Stadium. In this match, MI had to face defeat by 18 runs but Rohit batted well in the match. In this match, facing 38 balls, he played an innings of 68 runs with the help of 10 fours and 3 sixes. However, despite this the team had to face defeat and now Rohit has given a big statement on his performance during a conversation on Jio Cinema.

He said, “As a batsman I know that I have not been able to live up to the expectations this season. However, after playing for so many years, I feel that if I think too much, I will not be able to play well. I just try to stay in a good mindset. Practice for your weak area and improve the flaws. “That’s all I try to do.”

Rohit further said that “This season of ours did not go as per plan. We blame ourselves for this because during this time we have made many mistakes. We have lost many matches which we should have won. You get some opportunities which you should take advantage of but we could not do that this season.”

If we look at the performance of the 37-year-old this year, he has played a total of 14 matches this season, in which he has scored 417 runs with an average of 32.8 and a strike rate of 150. During this period, one century and one half-century have come from his bat. Rohit could not finish this season in the manner in which he had started because he did not get runs from his bat in the middle.
