Delhi: Rajasthan Royals (RR) head coach Kumar Sangakkara praised Riyan Parag’s batting. Parag played a quick but short innings against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Tuesday. Praising Parag, Sangakkara said that this short but important innings was very important in bringing back the momentum for the team.

Rajasthan was chasing the target of 223 runs in the match. Both the openers of the team gave a great start. After this, captain Parag also scored 29 runs in just 16 balls. After which Sangakkara praised his small innings. “Ryan’s short innings was just what we needed to swing the match back in our favour,” Sangakkara said in the post-match conference.

Rajasthan gave first defeat of this season to Punjab

Punjab was unbeaten so far this season. But Rajasthan stopped his victory chariot. Rajasthan won this match by six wickets. Chasing a big target, opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 51 runs in 27 balls and Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 43 runs in 16 balls.

After this, Donovan Ferreira played an unbeaten inning of 52 runs in just 26 balls. Whereas Shubham Dubey scored unbeaten 31 runs in 12 balls. Due to which Rajasthan achieved this target with four balls remaining. Ferreira was chosen Player of the Match for his brilliant half-century innings. This is Punjab’s first defeat of the season. But he is still on top in the points table. Whereas Rajasthan is at third position.
