A few hours after the  Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar again criticized Virat Kohli ahead of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs. Chennai Super Kings IPL 2024 match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, the RCB opener hit back at foter player, claiming he doesn’t need anyone’s validation or assurance about his abilities.

In a conversation on JioCinema, ahead of the crucial encounter that would determine RCB’s destiny in the playoffs, Kohli stated that he is well aware of his ability and does not need to respond to outside noise.

“I don’t have to respond to any external noise. I don’t need to explain to anyone my skill level or type of player I am. I have never asked anyone on how to win a game. I learnt this from experience. Winning games for the team on a regular basis is no coincidence. It is entirely different for one person to witness and evaluate than it is for another player to be in the middle of it. I’ve never felt the need to clarify someone when they say something negative about me. I am aware of my capabilities in that area,” Kohli stated.

“I don’t require validation from others or reassurance that I performed well. I don’t need it. My father told me earlier that you will only succeed if you are capable. Performance is my currency,” he quoted.

Kohli also remarked that people also slammed MS Dhoni for taking the game deep.

“Mahi bhai used to get similar remarks from people. “Why is he playing until the last over of the game?” However, how many games did he finish for India? He knows his skills. I always planned to finish the game a over earlier, but he takes it to the final over when the opposition is obviously shivering in fear,” he stated.
