Let us tell you that Kohli was struggling to score runs in the beginning of his career and after this he met Raina for the first time in 2008 in Australia. There was a conversation between them during this tour and Virat has now shared an incident from it during a conversation with Geo Cinema. Not only this, when Kohli was struggling in the middle order, it was Raina who asked him if he would like to open and after this he scored a century while opening the innings against New Zealand. While narrating the story of the conversation between himself and Raina, Virat has made a big revelation.

He said, “We both met for the first time in 2008 while playing the Emerging Cup in Australia and I was unsuccessful in the initial matches while batting in the middle order. After this, Raina joined the team as a leader in the middle and saw me batting in the nets. Raina saw my potential and asked why I was not playing. Then Raina asked me if you can open and I just wanted to play. Apart from this, the coach was not thinking of opening me. However, after this I scored a century against the Kiwi team while opening.”

In fact, the 35-year-old has opened the innings for India on many occasions and has performed well during this period. Currently, Kohli bats only in the top order during his career in white ball cricket. Where the right-handed batsman has come to play at number three, but many times he has also batted at the fourth position. So in the Test format, the 35-year-old is seen playing at number four.
