Angkrish Raghuvanshi Fined by BCCI:In IPL 2026, many exciting moments were seen in the match played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday, 26 April. Some controversial things also happened in the match, after which the attitude of the players and coaches in the KKR camp appeared very strict.
Actually, something happened that during KKR’s innings, Angkrish Raghuvanshi was playing after scoring 9 runs, when due to a unique rule in the match, he was given out. In this match, KKR batsman Angkrish Raghuvanshi was declared out due to ‘obstructing the field’.
After this decision of the umpire, this KKR player and the Kolkata Knight Riders camp looked quite angry. Angkrish Raghuvanshi was so angry while returning to the pavilion that he hit his bat hard on the ground (on the boundary cushion) and threw the helmet near the boundary line. Now BCCI has taken strict action against this action of Angkrish.
KKR batsman Angkrish Raghuvanshi has violated Level 1 of the IPL Code of Conduct, due to which he has been fined 20 percent of his match fee and also received 1 demerit point. According to the information released by IPL, this action of Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been considered a violation of Level 1 of the code of conduct. It pertains to “misuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during a match”.
He was very angry with the umpire’s decision in the match against Lucknow. In such a situation, it has become difficult for them to express their displeasure. One demerit point has also been added to his account for this action.
Actually, this incident happened on the last ball of the 5th over of KKR’s innings. Angkrish Raghuvanshi played a shot towards mid-on on the ball of Prince Yadav and ran fast to take the run. However, Cameron Green, standing at the other end, sent him back. Angkrish dived to reach inside the crease. When Angkrish dived to save his wicket, the fielder threw the ball, which landed directly on Angkrish’s leg.
As soon as Angkrish hit the ball, LSG captain Rishabh Pant and the rest of the team players appealed to the umpire. After this the umpire declared Angkrish out for ‘obstructing the field’. Raghuvanshi returned to the pavilion after scoring only 9 runs.
