IPL 2026: In the very next match, on the same ground where Delhi Capitals had scored 264 runs, this team's batting collapsed like a pack of cards. In the 39th match of IPL 2026, Royal Challengers Bangalore fast bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood wreaked havoc against Delhi Capitals. Together, these two bowlers took down 6 wickets of Delhi for just 8 runs. In just 23 balls, Delhi lost KL Rahul, Nitish Rana, Sameer Rizvi, Tristan Stubbs, Axar Patel and young batsman Sahil Parakh.
Delhi Capitals saw such a day for the first time in IPL history.Delhi Capitals Bengaluru won the toss and chose to field first. Captain Patidar gave the first over to Bhuvneshwar Kumar and he dismissed opener Sahil Parakh on the very second ball. After this, the biggest blow to Delhi came on the first ball of the second over. Fast bowler Hazlewood dismissed KL Rahul on a wonderful bouncer. He could score only one run. After this, Hazlewood dismissed Sameer Rizvi on the very first ball. Delhi thought that Tristan Stubbs would take over the team but this player was out on the first ball of the third over after hitting a four.
He was hunted by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Captain Akshar Patel could also stay on the wicket for only 3 balls. He was caught out by Bhuvi at the hands of Jitesh Sharma. Akshar Patel also could not open the account. After Akshar's departure, Nitish Rana was dismissed by Josh Hazlewood for 1 run and thus Delhi lost 6 wickets in no time.Delhi made a shameful record in IPL history in this match against RCB. Delhi team became the lowest scoring team in powerplay.
Delhi scored only 13 runs in the powerplay and lost 6 wickets. This is the first time that a team scored so few runs in the powerplay and more than five wickets also fell. The Delhi team had made a good start in IPL 2026 but this team has lost four out of the last five matches. Now this season it does not seem that this team will be able to make a place in the power play.
