Rinku Singh has made a brilliant performance in the KKR’s Super Over win against Lucknow Super Giants on April 27 at Lucknow.
He made a stunning knock, reviving the innings, and put up an exceptional performance in the fielding and secured the win for the side after hitting the four in the Super over.
By this win, they went on to jump to the 8th position in the IPL 2026 Points table.
After being invited to bat first, Ajinkya Rahane and Tim Seifert opened the innings while Mohammed Shami opened the bowling attack.
Mohsin Khan bagged the wicket of Ajinkya Rahane and Tim Seifert for 3 and duck, respectively. Rahane was dismissed on a slower delivery, miscuing the ball towards mid-off, where Aiden Markram took the catch.
Meanwhile, Tim Seifert got dismissed after chipping the ball to Mukul Choudhary in covers.
With Angkrish Raghuvanshi was dismissed after considered as obs, Kolkata Knight Riders lost three wickets for 27 runs.
With Rovman Powell and Cameron Green at crease, Kolkata Knight Riders went on to post 31 runs in the powerplay.
Mohsin Khan bagged his third wicket dismissing Rovman Powell for 1 runs. Rovman Powell got dismissed after trying a pull which was mistimed and Rishabh Pant took a safe catch behind the wickets.
In the 11th over, Mohsin Khan continued his attack dismissing Cameron Green and Anukul Roy to complete his five-wicket haul.
Cameron Green was dismissed on a outside off delivery where he swings across line and miscues it towards off side where Cameron Green takes a safe catch.
Meanwhile, Anukul Roy got dismissed after flicking the delivery straight to mid wicket where Badoni takes the catch.
Losing six wickets, Kolkata Knight Riders were in tough spot as they scored only 73 runs. However, Rinku Singh and Ramandeep Singh will be aiming to forge a partnership to post a decent total on Sunday’s clash.
George Linde bagged the wicket of Ramandeep Singh after he hit the ball to leg side where Marsh picked the catch at long on.
With Sunil Narine and Rinku Singh at crease, Kolkata Knight Riders to post 155 runs in their 20 over innings. Rinku Singh remained unbeaten with 83* runs after smashing four sixes in the final over. Apart from Mohsin Khan, George Linde bagged a wicket for LSG.
Chasing 156 runs, Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh opened the innings while, Anukul Roy opened the bowling attack.
Vaibhav Arora bagged the wicket of Marsh for 2 runs and with Cameron Green and Rishabh Pant at crease, Lucknow Super Giants went on to score 37 runs in the powerplay.
However, Cameron Green bagged the wicket of Aiden Markram for 31 runs. With Rishabh Pant’s dismissal for 42 runs by Sunil Narine, LSG lost three wickets for 78 runs.
Nicholas Pooran, Mukul Choudhary and Ayush Badoni lost their wickets in regular interval as Kolkata Knight Riders gained momentum in the game.
With a crucial contribution from George Linde and Himmat Singh, Lucknow Super Giants turned the table against KKR. In the final over, Kartik Tyagi bowled two no balls which relieved the pressure on LSG batter.
After Himmant Singh’s dismissal, Shami went on to score a six to level the score by the end of 20 overs.
Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh came to bat in the super over. Sunil Narine went on to bag the wickets of Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh for one run.
Kolkata Knight Riders will be needing two runs to win the game where Rinku Singh won the game single handedly.
Kolkata Knight Riders will play their next game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 03 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
