IPL 2026 has been one of the most injury-hit editions of the tournament in recent memory. With nearly 20 players having been ruled out or forced to withdraw across the first half of the season, the replacement market has been active from before the first ball was even bowled and shows no signs of slowing down.

From Ben Duckett’s controversial withdrawal to Ayush Mhatre’s hamstring injury, from KKR’s multiple pace bowling casualties to SRH’s complete overhaul of their English seam attack, the squad management story of this IPL has been as compelling as anything happening on the pitch.

Here is the complete and updated list of every official replacement made across all ten IPL franchises as of April 24, 2026.

IPL 2026: Kolkata Knight Riders: The most affected side

KKR have been hit harder than any other IPL franchise this IPL 2026 season. Harshit Rana was ruled out with a knee injury and replaced by Navdeep Saini. Akash Deep followed with a lower back problem, bringing in Saurabh Dubey.

Mustafizur Rahman was forced to leave after the BCCI and BCB reached an agreement regarding his workload for upcoming international fixtures, with Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani, who has been one of the genuine surprise packages of the tournament, coming in as a high-pace replacement.

Three pacers out before the midway point of the season for one franchise is an extraordinary level of disruption and it explains in large part why KKR spent the first half of their campaign struggling so badly to contain opposition batting lineups.

IPL 2026: Chennai Super Kings – Injuries piling up on multiple fronts

CSK have been the second most affected IPL side. Ayush Mhatre, the exciting young opener who had been one of the stories of the early tournament, was ruled out with a hamstring injury and replaced by Akash Madhwal at INR 30 lakh.

Nathan Ellis followed with his own hamstring issue, bringing Spencer Johnson into the squad. Khaleel Ahmed has been ruled out with a quadriceps tear and is awaiting a replacement announcement.

And then there is MS Dhoni, the calf strain that has kept him out of the playing XI all season has not yet resulted in an official squad replacement but remains an open wound for the franchise. CSK have navigated these losses well enough to win games but the cumulative impact on their bowling depth has been considerable.

IPL 2026: Delhi Capitals – Ben Duckett controversy and entry of Rehan Ahmed

The most talked-about departure of the season belongs to Ben Duckett, who withdrew from DC before making a single appearance citing a focus on Test cricket for England.

The withdrawal may trigger a two-year IPL ban and DC moved quickly to bring in 21-year-old English leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed at INR 75 lakh, a signing that immediately addressed a gap in their spin attack alongside Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav.

IPL 2026: Sunrisers Hyderabad – A complete seam attack overhaul

SRH have effectively replaced their entire English seam contingent mid-season. Jack Edwards went first with a foot injury, bringing David Payne in.

Payne then suffered an ankle injury himself before Brydon Carse was ruled out with a hand problem, opening the door for Dilshan Madushanka and Gerald Coetzee to come in.

The good news for SRH is that both replacements have performed well, Madushanka in particular making an impact, and the franchise has maintained their express pace identity despite the personnel upheaval.

IPL 2026: Rajasthan Royals, Gujarat Titans, LSG and MI

Rajasthan lost Sam Curran to a groin injury before the tournament, with Dasun Shanaka coming in, the Sri Lankan all-rounder who famously left his PSL contract to take up the deal.

Gujarat Titans lost Tom Banton to a finger injury and Prithviraj Yarra before the season, bringing in Connor Esterhuizen and Kulwant Khejroliya respectively. Lucknow Super Giants lost Wanindu Hasaranga to an NOC issue rather than injury, with South Africa’s George Linde coming in as the replacement.

Mumbai Indians lost Atharva Ankolekar to a knee injury and brought in Krish Bhagat. RCB meanwhile are still managing the situation around Nuwan Thushara, who was denied his NOC by Sri Lanka Cricket at the start of the season and has not yet featured. Yash Dayal had also withdrawn before the season began for personal reasons without an official replacement being named.
