Former Indian batting legend Yuvraj Singh took to social to praise his protégé Abhishek Sharma for his brilliant century on Tuesday night. The 25-year-old notched his second Indian Premier League (IPL) ton against Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
Taking to his X handle, Yuvraj Singh wrote, “Let the bat do the work! Getting better each day well played sir Abhishek! Keep up with the process”.
The tweet from Yuvraj Singh had garnered massive likes as Abhishek’s efforts with the bat helped SRH beat DC by 47 runs to move to third spot in the table.You can read the tweet below
Indian batting star Abhishek Sharma scored a brilliant 135 not out which came off just 68 balls with the help of ten boundaries and ten huge sixes. The left-handed batter reached his century off just 47 balls as he helped SRH scored a massive 242 for 2 from the 20 overs.
Indian T20I opener and World Cup winner, Abhishek Sharma, was seen playing at his usual aggressive self as he went after the Delhi Capitals bowlers right from the start.
The 26-year-old added 97 runs for the opening wicket with Travis Head which came off just 8.5 overs.The century on Tuesday night was also Abhishek Sharma’s second in the IPL. Last year, the left-handed batter had scored 55-ball 141 against Punjab Kings in front of his home fans. With this knock on Tuesday, the 25-year-old has now scored 323 runs from seven games at an average of 53 and strike rate of 215.33.
Sunrisers Hyderabad are heading into the second half of the IPL 2026 season with eight points from seven games. Ishan Kishan who is leading the side in Pat Cummin’ absence has seen his side win their last three games. IPL 2016 winners will be keen to keep the run going as they get ready to play key encounters scheduled.
The next matches for SRH is against Rajasthan Royals on Sunday at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. This will followed by a game against Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium on 29 April.
