Indian opener Smriti Mandhana has suffered a major setback in the ICC rankings after failing in two matches of the five-match T20 series in South Africa. But her fellow opener Shefali Verma has benefited from good performance. After scoring a half-century against South Africa, Shafali Verma has moved up two places to sixth place in the ICC Women's T20 rankings. In the second T20 match played in Durban last Sunday, Shefali scored 57 runs in 38 balls, but India lost by 8 wickets.

Shock to Mandhana

Indian vice-captain and Shefali's opening partner Smriti Mandhana has been able to score only 25 runs in 2 matches and due to this she has dropped from third to fourth place in the T20 rankings.

South African players benefit

South Africa captain Laura Woolfart has retained her fifth position in the list of T20 batsmen after scoring a brilliant half-century in the second match against India.

Loss to Deepti-Renuka

Meanwhile, Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma, fast bowlers Renuka Singh Thakur and Arundhati Reddy have slipped in the rankings of bowlers. Deepti has fallen two positions to fifth place, while Renuka has fallen four places to ninth place.
