Played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, MI batted first to post a formidable total of 199/5, before bowling GT out for a mere 100 runs. MI maintained complete control over the match from start to finish.
Gujarat Titans won the toss and elected to bowl first; however, the decision ultimately backfired on them.
The standout performer of MI’s innings was N. Tilak Varma, who played a magnificent unbeaten knock of 101 runs off just 45 balls.
His innings featured 8 fours and 7 sixes, played at an impressive strike rate of 224.44.
MI suffered early setbacks in their innings, as Quinton de Kock, Danish Malewar, and Suryakumar Yadav were dismissed quickly.
However, Naman Dhir played a crucial innings of 45 runs, while Captain Hardik Pandya contributed 15 runs.
In the bowling department, Kagiso Rabada claimed 3 wickets for GT, though the rest of their bowlers proved to be quite expensive.
