Latest News :- The Enforcement Directorate has filed a complaint in the Supreme Court citing Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's campaign statement that if people vote for his party in the elections, he will not have to go to jail.

The Enforcement Directorate said in its defence, “How can Arvind Kejriwal, who is on interim bail, make such comments? This amounts to contempt of court.” Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Enforcement Department, gave this argument.

Justice Sanjeev Khanna further said, “We welcome criticism of the decision. We do not want to get into criticism. Also, our order is clear as to when Kejriwal should surrender. This is the order of the Supreme Court. And what is happening is the rule of law, so we are not giving exceptions to anyone.”

Arvind Kejriwal, arrested and sent to jail by the Enforcement Directorate in the Delhi Liquor Policy scam case, was granted interim bail to campaign. Accordingly, it was stipulated that he would have to surrender on 2 June. In this matter, Kejriwal, who has been campaigning for the last few days, said, “The results of the Lok Sabha elections will be declared on June 4. I was arrested before the Lok Sabha elections. I was refused insulin in Tihar jail.” I have to go back to jail on June 2.

I will watch the election results from jail on June 4.

You have to make the Bharat alliance win. If Bharat alliance comes to power, I will come out of Tihar jail on June 5. If people vote for Aam Aadmi Party in this election, I will not have to go to jail.”
