Former Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin said after CSK’s 10-run defeat against SRH on Saturday that there is a lot of pressure on captain Ruturaj Gaikwad. This match was challenging for CSK in IPL 2026, and Gaikwad’s performance also became a topic of discussion.

Ashwin, speaking on JioHotstar, said that Gaikwad had chances to score good runs, especially after Ayush Mathre’s brilliant start, but he did not take advantage of it. He also said that Gaikwad did not need to take too many risks as the team had a good start in the powerplay.

Ashwin also told that the ball which dismissed Gaikwad was a great ball and it was difficult to stop it on the pull shot. “I feel there is a lot of pressure on Gaikwad and his mind seems a bit confused,” he said.

SRH scored 194/9 and gave CSK a target of 195 runs. In response, CSK started well, but under the pressure of SRH bowlers, they failed to score runs in the last overs. Although Ayush Mathare (30 runs, 13 balls) and Sarfaraz Khan (25 runs, 16 balls) made good contributions, SRH’s Ishan Malinga (3/29) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (2/31) prevented CSK from reaching the target in the last overs.

With this win, SRH moved to fourth place in the IPL 2026 points table, while CSK slipped to seventh place.
