Cooper Connolly, Arya Shine as PBKS Extend Unbeaten Streak in IPL 2026

A brilliant performance from Cooper Connolly and Priyansh Arya has set up PBKS’ massive 54-run victory against Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2026 game played at New Chandigarh.

Their knocks stitched an 182-run partnership for the second wicket, which has set up Punjab Kings to remain top in the IPL 2026 points table, extending their unbeaten streak.

After being invited to bat first, Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh opened the innings while Mohammed Shami opened the bowling attack.

Shami picked the wicket of Prabhsimran Singh for a golden duck, and Cooper Connolly joined Arya to trouble LSG bowlers.

The duo amassed a decent score of 63 runs in the power play. However, they went on to carnage mode where Arya smashed a second fifty of the season while Connolly brought his fifty and sent on to smash 87 runs off 46 deliveries before being dismissed by Prince Yadav. His knock included 8 fours and 7 sixes.

The duo made a 182-run partnership for the second wicket as the duo went on to troubled the LSG bowlers.

Meanwhile Arya went on to score 93 runs off 36 deliveries which included four fours and 9 sixes.

After his dismissial by Manimaran Siddharth, Shreyas Iyer lost his wicket to Mohsin Khan for 5 runs.

Nehal Wadhera did play a small innings contributing 13 runs off 6 deliveries before being dismissed by Maninmaran Siddharth.

In the preulitmate over, Punjab Kings went on to cross 250 run mark posting one of thei highest team score in the IPL history.

Prince Yadav who came to deliver the final over, bagged the wicket of Shashan Singh for 17 runs. By the end of 20 overs, Punjab Kings went on to score a 254 runs for 7 wickets.

Prince Yadav and Manimaran Siddharth bagged two wickets each whle Mohammed Shami and Mohsin Khan bagged 1 wicket each.

Chasing 255 run target, Mitchell Marsh and Ayush Badoni opened the innings while Arshdeep Singh opened the bowling attack.

The duo made a decent start posting 61 runs in the powerplay for a wicket. In the last delivery of the powerplay, Badoni got dismissed on a slower one, where he hit the ball at mid-wicket and Bartlett took the catch.

Yuzvendra Chahal bagged the wicket of Mitchell Marsh for 40 runs while Pant scored 43 runs before went back to dug out after losing his wicket to Arshdeep Singh.

Pooran who came to bat at no.4 got dismissed by Marcon Jansen. Aiden Markram and Mukul Choudhary has been fighting to close the target but their efforts went in vain as they suffered a massive 54 run defeat at New Chandigarh.

Punjab Kings will play their next game against Delhi Capitals on April 25 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
