SRH vs GT: The 66th match of the 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) was to be played on Thursday between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans (SRH vs GT) at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad. But due to rain, the toss of this match could not be held and ultimately the umpires had to cancel it.

Around 8.30 the weather became better and there was hope for the match to start, but after a while the weather changed again and it started raining heavily at Uppal Stadium. After this it did not even once feel that the match could be started.

SRH vs GT: Hyderabad gets playoff ticket

After the cancellation of this match, both Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans (SRH vs GT) were given one point each. With this, Hyderabad has got the playoff ticket. There are 15 points in his account. Apart from this, they still have a chance to reach second place in the points table. Orange Army has to play its last match of the league stage against Punjab Kings on 19 May.

On the other hand, this second consecutive match of Gujarat Titans was washed out in rain. Earlier, their match against Kolkata Knight Riders was also lost due to rain. GT have played all 14 of their league stage matches this season and are placed 8th in the points table.

RCB vs CSK match became knockout

The cancellation of this match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans (SRH vs GT) has also affected the match to be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings on May 18. This match will now be do or die for both the teams.

If CSK wins this match, they will have 16 points in their account and will easily enter the playoffs, while RCB will have conditions for victory. They will have to defeat the yellow jersey team by a margin of 18 runs or chase and achieve the target in the 18th over. Currently RCB is at sixth position in the points table with 12 points.
