Cyber Crime: A 28-year-old man from Bengaluru was duped of Rs three lakh while trying to buy tickets for the upcoming IPL match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Cricket fans are being cheated by cyber criminals as the demand for this crucial match skyrockets.

As reported by Times of India, the concerned youth saw a post on the ipl_2024_tickets_24 Instagram handle, where he was told about the availability of matches between Bangalore and Chennai. The person on the handle identified herself as Padma Sinha Vijay Kumar. Claimed to be an authorized person selling IPL tickets. He sent his Aadhaar card and mobile number for verification and mentioned Rs 2,300 for each ticket.

After this the young man sent money for three tickets. However, he did not get the ticket. After this, the young man asked the other person about the ticket. At that time he asked to send another 67 thousand rupees saying that there was a technical fault. However, as the refund was not received, the young man realized that he had been cheated. After this, the youth ran to the nearest police station. A complaint was lodged at the police station that 3 lakh rupees had disappeared from the young man's account.
