Lucknow: There is a lot of discussion about the strike rate of Pakistan captain Babar Azam in T-20 cricket. He is often accused that Babar never plays with a strike rate of 200 and now former Pakistani player Misbah-ul-Haq has advised him to bat as per the situation. Actually, he says that if the team is chasing the score of 200 runs then Azam cannot bat at a strike rate of 130-140. However, for some time now the Pakistani captain has been successful in giving a befitting reply to those criticizing his strike rate.

Babar recently batted brilliantly in the third T20I match against Ireland and scored runs with an impressive strike rate. Misbah praised that innings of Babar a lot and also expressed hope that the right-handed batsman can play many such innings in future. He has such ability that he can score runs with a good strike rate. Let us tell you that Azam now has to play a 4-match T-20 series against England and before the start of this series, the former Pakistani player has given a big statement during a conversation on Star Sports.
He said, “We have seen Babar Azam improving his strike rate against Ireland. It is expected that in future whenever Pakistani team needs such innings, Babar will be seen playing. If there is a role of anchor then he will be seen anchoring but if the team needs him then he will have to be ready to bat with a strike rate of 160-170 or even 200. If the team is chasing a score of 200 runs then you cannot bat with a strike rate of 130-140.”
Misbah further said that “Outside noise definitely affects the players. However, good players, who are mentally strong, take inspiration from these criticisms. They write this thing down that they will have to answer it on the field. Somehow they learn and take inspiration from those criticisms.”
Babar Azam played an excellent innings against Ireland
Actually, 29-year-old Babar had played a good innings in the last T-20 match against Ireland, which Misbah has praised a lot. In this match, Captain Azam scored 75 runs with the help of 6 fours and 5 sixes in 42 balls for Men in Green, who were chasing the target of 179 runs. During this period his strike rate was more than 178.
