Jos Buttler, Gill Knocks Powers Gujarat Titans to 7-Wicket Win Against LSG

A solid knock from Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler has powered the Gujarat Titans 7-wicket victory against Lucknow Super Giants at Lucknow.

Both went on to smash fifties in the chase, setting up a comfortable win for the Titans in Sunday’s clash. Gujarat Titans secure their second win and jumped to fifth spot in the IPL 2026 points table.

After being invited to bat first, Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram opened the innings while Mohammed Siraj opened the bowling attack.

Kagiso Rabada brought the first breakthrough, dismissing Mitch Marsh for 11 runs. With Siraj dismissed, Rishabh Pant for 18 runs, Aiden Markram and Ayush Badoni added to the crease as LSG scored 60 runs in the powerplay.

Markram, who added 30 runs, got dismissed by Prasidh Krishna. He bagged his second wicket of Ayush Badoni and Nicholas Pooran for 9 and 19 runs respectively as LSG lost 5 wickets for 109 runs.

Ashok Sharma bagged his first wicket dismissing Abdul Samad for 18 runs while Prasid Krishna bagged the wicket of Mukul Choudhary. Ashok Sharma bagged his second wicket dismissing George Linde for 16 runs.

With Mohammed Shami and Avesh Khan at crease, Lucknow Super Giants went on to score 164 runs in the 20 over innings.

Mohammed Shami remained unbeaten with 12 runs while Avesh Khan scored 4* runs. Prasidh Krishna bagged four wickets while Ashok Sharma bagged two wickets. Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada picked 1 wicket each.

Chasing 165 runs target, Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill opened the innings while Mohammed Shami opened the bowling attack.

Digvesh Rathi bagged first wicket for LSG dismissing Sai Sudharsan for 15 runs. Jos Buttler who came to bat at no.3 joined Shubman Gill as Gujarat Titans scored 52 runs in the powerplay.

Both went on to slam fifties and forged 84-run partnership for the second wicket. Prince Yadav picked the wicket of Gill for 56 runs while Shami picked the wicket of Jos Buttler for 60 runs.

Washington Sundar and Rahul Tewatia complete the chase in the 19th over. Sundar remained unbeaten with 21* runs while Tewatia scored 10* runs. Mohammed Shami, Prince Yadav and Digvesh Rathi bagged one wicket each.

Gujarat Titans will play their next game against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 17 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
