Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s explosive rise in cricket continued as he smashed 78 runs off just 26 balls to guide Rajasthan Royals to victory against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Friday, April 10. With his second fifty of the season, the 15-year-old kid took the lead in the IPL 2026 Orange Cap race.

RR’s in-form wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel and RCB captain Rajat Patidar also scored fifties in the IPL 2026 Match 16 to enter the Orange Cap race. Meanwhile, in the bowling, Ravi Bishnoi is dominating the IPL 2026 Purple Cap race single-handedly.

After a huge 6-wicket win over RCB, inspired by Vaibhav Sooryabanshi and Dhruv Jurel’s big fifties, the Rajasthan Royals are dominating the points table, and their players have been leading both the Orange and Purple Cap races in IPL 2026.

IPL 2026 Orange Cap Leaders: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi takes lead

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi surpassed his opening partner, Yashasvi Jaiswal, to take the lead in the Orange Cap with 200 runs in four innings at a strike rate of 266.66. Jaiswal is second with 183 runs, followed by another RR player, Dhruv Jurel.

Meanwhile, Rajat Patidar scored 63 runs off 40 balls to enter the Orange Cap race with 142 runs in just three innings this season.

He is followed by Gujarat Titans’ Prasidh Krishna and Rashid Khan. Jofra Archer also clinched two more wickets in the latest RR vs RCB game in Guwahati to rise to fifth position in the Purple Cap standings.
