On Thursday night at the Eden Gardens, Choudhary scored 54 off 27 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders to lead Lucknow Super Giants to a hard-fought win. His inspiration? Mahendra Singh Dhoni. evidence? Helicopter shot.

Chaudhary said about the motivation he got from Langer’s words, ‘When a big coach like him says something like that about you, I am sure he has seen something in you. He showed faith in me, so now it was my time to repay him. During practice, he spends just 10-15 minutes with me every day. Whatever he taught me proved helpful. So when they trusted me, I just did my job.

Speaking to the host broadcaster after Choudhary led LSG to a come-from-behind win, Langer said he was confident Choudhary can reach even greater heights.
