KKR pacer Mitchell Starc made everyone laugh with his clever reply to a query about his knowledge of Hindi cuss words.

It’s no secret that cricket players frequently pick up local vocabulary when they travel around the world, and Starc, an IPL seasoned player, was tested.

When questioned about whether he was familiar with Indian swear words “I know a few words, There’s the Ben Stokes one,” Starc said during the sixth episode of the Knights Dugout podcast.

Starc’s remark is based on the offensive word that, coincidentally, rhymes with Ben Stokes’ name, the England all-rounder. When the Englishman himself admitted that he was becoming a little sick of jokes about this, it caused quite a stir. Stokes added that it was humorous once, but not now.

“I could delete my account on Twitter simply to avoid seeing another tweet that says, ‘He’s saying Ben Stokes,’ when he is obviously not, In reply to a video of Virat saying you know what it was funny the first 100,000 times,” tweeted Stokes.

In response to a question regarding sledging, Starc stated, “Not much happens these days. There is a lot more player chatter. There is very little sledging because players are so close to one another, yet there may be occasional banter.”

This playful chat demonstrates the friendship and sense of humour that characterize the IPL and the special cultural interaction that happens when foreign players take part in the lively atmosphere of the league.

Phil Salt and Starc also discussed what they expect from this IPL season, “I’m thrilled to be a part of KKR and hopefully we will have a really successful season. Our goal and objective is to win the trophy, and hopefully we will succeed in doing so.”

Salt also stated, “It’s about taking it day by day and we hope to put our best effort forward and get the momentum going at the right time.”
