Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) Mukul Choudhary announced himself in the IPL in style as he powered their side to a three-wicket victory against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens on April 9, Thursday. The match looked buried for the Super Giants but Choudhary blasted seven sixes in his 27-ball 54 as the tourists held their nerve to win off the final ball of the innings.

Despite losing Finn Allen early in the innings, the Knight Riders kept the momentum going as Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi stitched an 84-run stand between them before the former perished for 41 in the 11th over.

But Raghuvanshi also threw his wicket away for 45 in the following over to stall the momentum completely for the Knight Riders.

2) Anukul Roy dismisses Ayush Badoni for 54

KKR left-arm spinner Anukul Roy had a game to remember despite the loss, claiming figures of 4-0-32-2, exploiting the spin-friendly surface of Kolkata.

The match rested on Ayush Badoni after all the big hitters departed and the right-hander reached his fifty with a six, getting there off only 54 balls. But Badoni threw his wicket away in the same over as the Super Giants crashed to 125/6.

1) Mukul Choudhary smashes Cameron Green for 16 runs in the 19th over

Despite bringing the Super Giants closer to victory, it seemed far as they needed 30 off the final 12 deliveries. After surviving a near-miss chance, Choudhary belted Green for two sixes and a four to bring the equation down to 13 off the last over.

A couple of sixes and a dramatic bye was enough for the Super Giants to get over the line as Choudhary remained unbeaten on 54.
