Delhi: When it comes to Man of the Match award, it is always mentioned which performance received the award or who has won the most Man of the Match awards so far? Some of the names in the list of those who have won the most awards can be called legends.

The list of winners of most Man of the Match awards in IPL till 10 April 2026 includes AB de Villiers (Delhi Daredevils, Royal Challengers Bangalore) 25, Chris Gayle (Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore) 22, Rohit Sharma (Deccan Chargers, Mumbai Indians) 21, Virat Kohli (Royal Challengers Bengaluru) 19, MS Dhoni (Chennai Super Kings, Rising Pune Supergiants) and David Warner (Delhi Capitals, Delhi Daredevils, Sunrisers Hyderabad) 18, Sunil Narine (Kolkata Knight Riders) 17, Ravindra Jadeja (Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Lions, Kochi Tuskers Kerala, Rajasthan Royals), Yusuf Pathan (Kolkata Knight Riders) 17 Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad), Andre Russell (Delhi Daredevils, Kolkata Knight Riders) and Shane Watson (Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore) are on top with 16 awards.

On the contrary, there are some players who have been playing in IPL for many years, they play well and that is why they played a lot of matches but their luck was such that they never got the Man of the Match award. Actually this discussion started when Ravi Bishnoi, playing for Rajasthan Royals in the match against Gujarat Titans on 4th April, got the Man of the Match award for his match-winning bowling of 4-41 in 4 overs.

This is Ravi Bishnoi’s first IPL Man of the Match award and he received this award while playing his 79th match in IPL.

Although late, he still got his first Man of the Match award but if you look at the list of players who never got Man of the Match award in IPL, you will be surprised. Top 10 who never won Man of the Match award according to match count:

95 matches – Stuart Binny
93 matches – Saurabh Tiwari
92 matches – Dhawal Kulkarni
78 matches – Vijay Shankar

66 matches – T Natarajan
65 Match – Venugopal Rao and Abdul Samad
60 matches – Abhishek Nair
58 Match – Ayush Badoni and Shahrukh Khan
57 Match – Tilak Verma

If we extend this list further, the name of Sarfaraz Khan, who has played 53 matches, will also be included in it. Some of them are also playing this season, which means they also have a chance to remove their names from the list like Ravi Bishnoi. Ravi Bishnoi is playing IPL since 2020. The most surprising name is that of T Natarajan, although he is famous as a mystery spinner.

He has been a part of this league since 2017 and before Delhi, has played for Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab.

Vijay Shankar has been a part of the league since 2014 and has never won the Man of the Match award in 78 IPL matches. Dhawal Kulkarni played a total of 14 seasons of IPL from 2008 to 2021 and played 92 matches. Similarly, Saurabh Tiwari also played IPL from 2008 to 2021 i.e. for 14 years. Stuart Binny played in IPL from 2010 to 2019 and during this period even in 95 matches he could not get the Man of the Match award.

When such a list was made at the time of IPL 2025, the names of Prasidh Krishna, Aiden Markram and Jitesh Sharma were also there in it. All three names dropped from the list last season and all three won the Man of the Match award for the first time last year. This time Ravi Bishnoi’s name has been dropped. Whose name will be next? Each of T Natarajan, Abdul Samad, Tilak Verma and Sarfaraz Khan are equal contenders to win such an award. Let’s see whose luck shines?
