Sunrisers Hyderabad’s batter Aiden Markram has heaped massive praise on one of the young Indian players. He feels Abhishek Sharma has done enough to play for India in the near future.
Sunrisers will look to book their place in the playoffs when they face Gujarat Titans at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, on Thursday, May 16.
While speaking to PTI, Markram mentioned that Abhishek’s sensational form in the 17th season of the tournament will soon earn him an India cap.
“Abhishek has been phenomenal this season. He was showing positive signs in the previous seasons, but the youngster has achieved a lot in the ongoing edition,” Markram said.
SRH added the southpaw to the squad in 2019. In IPL 2024, Abhishek was given the task of opening the innings and managed 401 runs in 12 matches at a strike rate of 205.64.
The former SRH captain and South Africa’s skipper, Markram, is confident of seeing his franchise teammate donning the India jersey.
“He ha s a calm head and will do anything to imrove further. My fingers are crossed as I want to see him playing at the highest level,” he added.
