Former India player Mohammad Kaif feels Chennai Super Kings have a better chance of beating Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their last league match. The defending champions will have to win the upcoming contest to qualify for the playoffs. On the other hand, RCB are also in contention for the next round, and if they beat CSK by a big margin, there is a possibility of the Bengaluru-based franchise going through.
Kaif also spoke about the special quality of MS Dhoni, who is currently experiencing pain in his knee due to muscle tear. The veteran cricketer is confident of Dhoni promoting himself in the batting order.
“He knows it is a knockout match for his franchise. Dhoni had promoted himself in the batting during the 2011 World Cup final against Sri Lanka. He was out of form before that game but played a match-winning innings in the knockout contest.
“He will definitely play in the middle order against RCB. Dhoni is a champion cricketer and other players also get benefit by playing around him. Chennai are the defending champions. They were out of the final match last year with 10 runs needed off 2 balls. Jadeja hit a six and four to win the important match. This is the influence of Dhoni.
“Many captains will come and go in IPL but Dhoni is special. He is the only player who has a quality of getting the best out of himself in challenging situations. He remains calm and tells everyone to cut down on errors. Dhoni will be up against Mohammed Siraj as the pacer bowls in the death overs. I am seeing Dhoni vs Siraj contest in the CSK vs RCB match,” Mohammad Kaif said on Star Sports.
