KKR vs PBKS Called-Off In IPL 2026

The Kolkata Knight Riders vs. Punjab Kings match in IPL 2026 held at Eden Gardens was cancelled due to continuous rainfall, and hence there was no result. Kolkata Knight Riders captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and elected to bat first, but the game was abandoned in just 3.4 overs. It was an extremely poor show from the home side which was down for just 25 runs and two wickets, as both Finn Allen and Cameron Green got out in the very first over of the innings. Both these wickets went into Xavier Bartlett’s bag. Then rain made it’s appearance and stayed till the very end to deny the passionate fans of Kolkata a proper high-octane IPL match. The rain did stop towards the end and the umpires even considered for a 5-over match but due to excessive water on the covers and time running out, things didn’t materialised.

All teams are to continue competing until the end of the group stage. Then, four most successful teams will enter the playoff stage according to the points table. First two teams will have to participate in the game called “Qualifier 1” and the winner will enter the finals. Third and fourth teams are to struggle to get into the playoffs via “Eliminator”. Should the team lose, it would not be able to compete any more. Then, the game will continue between the winner of “Eliminator” and the loser of “Qualifier 1”. The victory brings one team to the next stage of the competition.

As for ranking, there are many criteria for determining the position of each team on the leaderboard. For example, the number of trophies won. As of now, Punjab Kings lead the rankings in terms of points.
