In the 10th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Lucknow Super Giants defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 5 wickets and achieved their first win in the tournament. Batting first in the match, Sunrisers Hyderabad had scored 156 runs by losing 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, in response to which Lucknow team achieved the target in 19.5 overs by losing 5 wickets.
Earlier, Lucknow team won the toss and decided to bowl first and their bowlers proved their captain’s decision absolutely correct.
After being invited to bat first, Hyderabad had a bad start and till the total score of 26 runs, Abhishek Sharma (0), Travis Head (7), captain Ishan Kishan (1) and Liam Livingstone (14) returned to the pavilion.After this, Klaasen and Reddy together took charge of the innings and made an excellent partnership of 116 runs in 63 balls for the fifth wicket.
This is the biggest partnership for the fifth wicket for Hyderabad. Klaasen played an inning of 62 runs in 41 balls, hitting 5 fours and 2 sixes. Whereas Reddy scored 56 runs in 33 overs with the help of 3 fours and 5 sixes. Due to which Hyderabad scored 156 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.Chasing this target, Lucknow also had a steady start and the pair of Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh added 37 runs for the first wicket.
Marsh was caught by Nitish Kumar Reddy on the ball of Ishan Malinga. Before getting out he scored 14 runs in 12 balls. After this, Rishabh Pant and Markram took the innings forward and made Lucknow’s victory a formality. Markram scored a stormy 45 runs before getting out while Rishabh Pant remained unbeaten till the end (68) and scored a half-century. Harsh Dubey took maximum 2 wickets for Hyderabad.
