IPL 2026 DC vs MI Playing 11: Axar Patel-led Delhi Capitals will square off against Suryakumar Yadav-led Mumbai Indians in the 8th match of the IPL 2026 on April 04 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.

Both come off a victory in their opening match of the IPL 2026 campaign. While Mumbai secured an 8-wicket victory against the Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals secured a 6-wicket victory against Lucknow Super Giants.

Both sides will be aiming for a win to show dominance against each other in this ongoing season.

Both sides have met on 37 occasions, where Delhi has 16 wins while Mumbai Indians has won on 21 occasions.

Delhi Capitals won the toss and opted to bowl. Speaking at the toss, Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel said, “I chose to bowl first. First game at home, want to see how the pitch plays. Looks a little dry, looks hard as well. We chased in the last game and hence I would like to chase once again.

(On last win) Obviously, 26 for 4 in the powerplay and to win from there boosts your confidence. Top order, who all missed out, will know that there are players to back them up if they have an off day,” added Axar Patel.

(On home support) Home games are always special. People cheer for us here every time. We would want to perform well and show them exciting cricket. No, we are going with the same team,” concluded Axar Patel.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav spoke about Hardik Pandya, saying, “He’s not well. Doesn’t look good. So, he isn’t fit for today’s game. So I’m getting into his shoes.”

“Happy to get the opening win after 12-13 years. We have to take the responsibility today and we have to play well here.

(What would they have done had they won the toss?) We would have batted first as well. I think they wanted to bowl first and we wanted to bat first. Very happy to bat first. It looks a good one. We have done well here while batting first,” concluded Suryakumar Yadav.
