The Young batter Dewald Brevis has missed CSK’s opener match against Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2026 played on April 30. He missed the clash due to side strain during the training session.

CSK head coach Stephen Fleming confirmed his injury and added that he was under rehabilitation and also indicated the period might not be too long.

Chennai Super Kings suffered a disappointing defeat after the batting order failed to score runs. Dewald Brevis has been phenonmenal in CSK’s middle order.

As the experienced top order failed to capitalise the innings and failure in the middle order has completely signalled the absence of Brevis in the lineup.

With CSK is set to play against Punjab Kings at Chepauk, fans are interested over the return of South African batter. Dewald Brevis was seen participating in a recent practice session ahead of CSK’s clash with Punjab Kings.

According to reports, the 22-year old appeared confident during training and his presence has boosted side’s confidence among supporters.

His return to nets signals encouraging progress in his recovery. Even though there has been no official confirmation regarding his selection for the next match, his involvement in practice suggests that he could be close to making a comeback.

Brevis joined CSK as a mid-season replacement for Gurjapneet Singh. In six games, he scored 225 runs at an average of 37.50 along with strike rate of 180.

Alongside the CSK supporters was enjoying with return of MS Dhoni to nets who was also sidelined in the opener clash due to calf injury. The franchise confirmed that he will be sidelined for atleast two weeks while undergoing rehabilitation.

However, his return to nets indicated steady progress in his recovery. Chennai Super Kings has sunk to the bottom of the IPL 2026 points table after a 8-wicket defeat against Rajasthan.

The team will be aiming to bounce back in the ucpoming encounter against Punjab Kings to be played on April 03 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
