Delhi: Star wicketkeeper batsman KL Rahul will once again be the center of attraction in the match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Delhi Capitals (DC) on Tuesday. There was a lot of speculation about the way Lucknow franchise owner Sanjiv Goenka spoke to Rahul after the embarrassing defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the last match. There was discussion that Rahul may leave the captaincy in the last two matches and Nicholas Pooran may be made the captain in his place. However, when LSG assistant coach and former South African explosive all-rounder Lance Klusener was asked about this in the press conference on Tuesday, he said that there was no discussion on this topic in the team. He also expressed hope that amid these discussions, Rahul will play a big innings in the upcoming match.

52-year-old Lance Klusener said, “There is no problem in this conversation between two cricket lovers (Goenka and Rahul). We like solid conversations. This improves the performance of teams. This is not a big deal for us. Even if Rahul steps down or takes over the captaincy, he would like to perform well in the season and end the season with the bat (big score).”

The veteran left-handed batsman further said, “Rahul has his own unique style, which has made him an excellent cricketer. This IPL was difficult for him, because we kept losing wickets continuously, due to which he did not get a chance to play freely. Looking at Rahul's level, he might have wanted to score a century or two, which could not happen. I think he will play a big innings soon.”
