Arjun, son of Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, will now be seen playing for the new team Lucknow Super Giants this season.

He was joined by the Lucknow team through trade in November last year for Rs 30 lakh.

Arjun was bought by Mumbai Indians in the 2021 IPL auction at a base price of Rs 20 lakh. However, he could not play that season due to injury. After this, he did not get a chance even in 2022 and he had to wait a long time for his debut.

He finally made his IPL debut in 2023 against Kolkata Knight Riders. In that season he played a total of four matches and took 3 wickets. His ability to swing the new ball caught everyone’s attention.

Mumbai Indians retained him in 2024, but he got a chance to play only one match.

In that match, he gave 22 runs in two overs and could not take any wicket. His performance was also affected due to less opportunities.

During an interview, when he was asked about the limited opportunities at Mumbai Indians, he answered honestly. Arjun said, ‘Who would like to sit on the bench? But we have to work hard and prove ourselves when we get a chance.

Now Arjun’s eyes are on better performance with the new team. Lucknow’s first match will be played against Delhi Capitals at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, where they can get a chance to prove themselves.

During this, Arjun also expressed his opinion on the Impact Player rule of IPL. He said that he is not in favor of this rule. He believes that the team should play with 11 players only, because this rule does not apply in international T20 and other leagues.

Overall, Arjun Tendulkar is ready to enter the field this time with new enthusiasm and hope. Now it will be interesting to see how many opportunities Lucknow Super Giants give him and how much he is able to take advantage of those opportunities.
