IPL Points Table 2026 Updated, After Rajasthan Royals vs Chennai Super Kings Match: The excitement of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 has begun and 3 matches have been completed rapidly. In these 3 matches, experienced and young stars like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Vaibhav Suryavanshi left their mark and entertained the fans a lot. The fans of these three stars wanted them to show their talent from the very first match and all three did so. But he not only scored runs but his innings also helped the team win. The most special person in this was Vaibhav Suryavanshi, whose explosive innings not only led Rajasthan Royals to victory but also took them to the first position in the points table.
After the victory of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the first match of the season and Mumbai Indians in the second match, Rajasthan Royals also won a big victory in the third match. In the match played in Guwahati, Rajasthan bowled out Chennai for just 127 runs on the strength of Nandre Berger, Joffra Archer and Ravindra Jadeja. After this, 15 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored a half-century in just 15 balls, on the basis of which Rajasthan achieved this target by losing 2 wickets in just 12.1 overs and started the season with a win.
With this victory, Rajasthan Royals opened their account by scoring 2 points. But these 2 points are equal to those of Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians, who had won their first matches. Despite this, this victory was special because by achieving the target quickly, Rajasthan had already taken a huge lead in the race of Net Run Rate (NRR). With this win, Rajasthan's NRR directly increased to 4.171 and the team left RCB behind and secured the first position. Bengaluru is now at second place with NRR of 2.907 and Mumbai at third place with (0.687).
As much as Rajasthan benefited, Chennai also suffered an equally big loss. CSK not only lost the match but also suffered badly in terms of NRR. Chennai's net run rate directly increased to (-)4.171, which may take the entire season to reverse. The team is currently at the sixth position but once the other 4 teams also play their respective matches, there is a possibility that Chennai will directly fall to the last position. Now all eyes are on the match on Tuesday 31st March, when Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans will clash in Mullanpur.
