Delhi:The West Indies women’s team has been fined 10 percent of its match fee for slow-over-rate during the first ODI against Australia in St Kitts on Friday, March 27. Windies captain Hayley Mathews admitted her mistake and accepted the punishment, so there was no need for any formal hearing in this matter.

ICC took action against West Indies team

After the second ODI, it was revealed that Haley Mathews’ team was not able to bowl the entire overs as per the scheduled time. The Windies team was left behind by two overs. For this reason, Ryan King of the ICC International Panel of Match Referees gave this punishment to the West Indies team.

The charges were made by on-field umpires Lauren Agenbaugh and Candice La Borde, third umpire Jacqueline Williams and fourth umpire Maria Abbott.

If we talk about the last match of the second series, in that Australia had defeated West Indies by a huge margin of 90 runs. West Indies had a big target of 270 runs to win, chasing which Hayley Mathews’ team was all out for 179 runs in 46 overs.

The last match of the ODI series will be played on April 2.
