BCCI has released the complete schedule of Team India for the 2026-27 domestic season. With this announcement, the picture of a long and exciting season has become clear for Indian cricket fans. Team India will play a total of 22 international matches during this period, which will be organized in 17 different cities of the country.
The special thing of this season is that four big teams will tour India, which include West Indies cricket team, Sri Lanka cricket team, Zimbabwe cricket team and Australia cricket team. Starting from September, this season will run till March 2027 and matches will be seen in every format.
The Indian domestic season will begin with the series against West Indies, which will start from 27 September 2026. In this tour, the first three-match ODI series will be played, in which the matches will be held in Trivandrum, Guwahati and New Chandigarh. After this, a five-match T20 series will be played, the matches of which will be held in Lucknow, Ranchi, Indore, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. This series will be a good opportunity for Team India to adjust to the limited overs format.
India will host Sri Lanka in December 2026. Three ODIs and three T20 matches will be played in this tour. The ODI matches will be held in Delhi, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad, while the T20 matches will be held in Rajkot, Cuttack and Pune. After this, the Zimbabwean team will tour India in January 2027, where a three-match ODI series will be played between the two teams. These matches will be held in Kolkata, Hyderabad and Mumbai.
The biggest and high-profile series of this domestic season will be against Australia. A five-match Test series will be played between the two teams between January and March 2027. The first Test will be played in Nagpur from January 21-25, while the second Test will be played in Chennai from January 29 to February 2. The third Test will be held in Guwahati, the fourth in Ranchi and the fifth in Ahmedabad. This series is also considered very important from the point of view of the World Test Championship.
17 different cities of India will host international matches throughout this domestic season. This will not only give fans a chance to watch the match in their city, but the celebration of cricket will spread across the country. Due to continuous matches and different formats, this season will also be a big test for the players. In such a situation, this schedule can prove to be very important for Team India in terms of preparation for the upcoming big tournaments.
