RCB are still in the playoff race after they defeated DC at home. After a dreadful start to the season, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have won five straight games in the Indian Premier League 2024. Prior to their recent winning run, RCB had lost six straight games and was on the verge of elimination from the competition.
The Bengaluru-based team made some tactical adjustments. In the dressing room, the RCB team erupted in celebration after their victory against Delhi Capitals. The celebration was unlike anything witnessed so far in IPL 2024 as the coaching staff praised every player who performed well. RCB shared a video of the celebrations, showing Rajat Patidar and Cameron Green having a great time.
The head coach of the RCB, Andy Flower, had earlier discussed the shift in approach embraced by the top order, who appeared to be more aggressive. Flower also lauded the bowling unit, saying they did their best to be as offensive as they could in terms of lengths and options.
“Virat and Faf led from the start and the rest of the squad has been excellent. I believe we saw a strong performance in the powerplay by Siraj and Yash. Both have shown great skill and determination with the new ball,” said Flower in the video.
If RCB defeat CSK at home in their final league match on May 18th, they have a slim chance of advancing to the playoffs. With 12 points from 13 games, the squad has climbed to the fifth position in the league standings. SRH, CSK, RR, and KKR are in front of RCB. While the other teams are only one victory away from a playoff berth, KKR has already secured their spot.
