Given his achievements for India and CSK throughout the years, Ambati Rayudu predicted that MS Dhoni temples would be constructed in Chennai. The Super Kings moved one step closer to earning a spot in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 playoffs on Sunday when they easily defeated RR by 5 wickets. CSK are ranked third in the points table with 14 points and a net run rate of +0.528 after winning 7 of their last 13 games.

This could be Dhoni’s final game at MA Chidambaram Stadium for this season, if CSK fail to make the playoffs. Over the years, fans have constructed temples dedicated to their favorite celebrities, such as Rajinikanth and Kushboo. Given the happiness that Dhoni has brought to the people of Chennai and India, Rayudu stated that he might potentially be put to the list.

“He is the God of Chennai, and I have no doubt that in the years to come, temples dedicated to MS Dhoni will be established in Chennai,” opined Rayudu on Star Sports.

“MS Dhoni has won the World Cup, IPL and Champions League, which has bought a lot of joy to the Chennai crowd. He has just always gone above and beyond for the team, the nation, and CSK. He is that rare individual that has faith in his players,” he continued.

“Everyone in the crowd cheers for him; he is a legend. They may be considering the possibility that this is his final game in Chennai,” the former CSK keeper stated.

After the win against RR on Sunday, the Chennai-side took a victory lap at MA Chidambaram Stadium, expressing gratitude to the fans for their support. The crowd also showered their love on Dhoni and the team. CSK will face RCB on May 18.
