The excitement for IPL 2026 has increased as all 10 team captains gathered in Mumbai for the annual captains’ photoshoot.

The photoshoot is a traditional event that happens every year and marks the start of the tournament preparations.

For the first time in history, all ten teams have Indian captains, which marks a special photoshoot ahead of the IPL 2026. While there have been seasons where nearly all captains were Indians, there has always been at least one overseas leader at the helm of the team.

This shift in the year became official after Ishan Kishan was named as captain for Sunrisers Hyderabad, as Pat Cummins is set to miss the start of the tournament due to injury.

The IPL 2026 captains Photoshoot features the leaders in their team jerseys and also shows unity and competition ahead of another exciting season.

Captains – Axar Patel, Rajat Patidar, Ajinkya Rahane, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant and Riyan Parag gathered with other captains, representing all teams in the league.

During the IPL 2026 Captains Photoshoot, several IPL 2026 rules like two bounces per over, checks on bat size and replacing the ball if it is lost or not fit for play have been discussed.

One major rule allows the team bowling second to ask for a ball change once after the 10th over. This rule helps the team deal with dew in evening games.

The Decision Review System (DRS) has also been improvised with including reviews for height-based no balls and wide balls outside the off stump using Hawk-Eye and ball-tracking technology.

As per the IPL 2026 schedule, the first match will be played between Royals Challengers Bengaluru and the Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 28 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, bringing in the cricketing festival to its peak.
