Amelia Kerr Shines with Century as New Zealand Seal 4-1 Series Victory

A solid century from Amelia Kerr has set New Zealand’s 92-run victory against South Africa in the 5th T20I match played at Christchurch.

By this win, White Ferns set up a dominating 4-1 T20I series win in the South Africa women’s tour of New Zealand 2026. Kerr put up a brilliant performance with bat and ball. Scoring 105 runs off 55 deliveries, which included 19 boundaries and a six at a strike rate of 190.90, she picked two wickets in her spell.

Amelia Kerr was named as the Player of the match and also emerged as the star performer as the series. She picked 276 runs in five games at an average of 55.20 and a strike rate of 158.62 and also picked five crucial wickets for her side at an economy rate of 4.67.

Batting first, New Zealand’s Isabella Gaze lost her wicket on Khaka’s dismissal while Plimmer added a 27 runs. Despite Amelia Kerr was agressive on one side, other batters went on to lose quick wickets.

Brooke Halliday made some contributiong adding 26 runs, while Amelia Kerr completed her 2nd T20I century in the game.

By the end of their innings, New Zealand scored 194 runs for 6 wickets. Both Ayabonga Khaka and Sekhukhune bagged three wickets for South Africa.

South Africa batting line up couldn’t stand up for the New Zealand bowling attack as the entire top order got dismissed cheaply.

Annerie Dercksen did show some resistance and scored 23 runs but went in vain as they side lost wickets at regular intervals.

By the end of the innings, South Africa scored only 102 runs for 9 wickets and suffered a 92 run defeat.

Lea Tahuhu bagged three wickets while Amelia Kerr and Sophie Devine bagged two wickets each. Nensi Patel and Flora Devonshire completed their respective spells with a wicket each.
