Before the start of IPL 2026, Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill has given a big statement about his team. He clearly said that he wants to see his fast bowlers not calm but aggressive.

Gill said this during the ‘Shubharambh 2026’ program organized in Ahmedabad. Team coach Ashish Nehra, players, franchise owners and fans were also present in this program.

Gill said that he wants his team’s fast bowlers to be as fierce as Ashish Nehra. He jokingly said that Nehra’s old videos are still viral, in which he is seen getting angry at the fielders for dropping catches.

Gujarat Titans have a strong fast bowling attack this time. The team includes big names like Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj, while players like Ishant Sharma, Luke Wood, Prasidh Krishna, Ashok Sharma and Jason Holder are also strengthening the team.

Last season, Prasidh Krishna performed brilliantly and won the Purple Cap by taking 25 wickets in 19 matches.

Gill said that the team’s performance last season was good, although it could not win the title. This time the team will enter the field with the same passion and hunger and will try to correct past mistakes.

Team coach Ashish Nehra also said jokingly that only the players have to play on the field and he will sit outside and watch the match. The people present at the program laughed and joked a lot at his statement.

Gujarat Titans will play their first match against Punjab Kings on March 31 in New Chandigarh. The team is eyeing its second title this season.
