Just before the start of IPL 2026, questions have been raised about Mumbai Indians’ star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. There is less than a week left for the start of this new season to be played from March 28 and fans have gone crazy after hearing the news of Bumrah’s presence in the CoE.
Before the start of IPL 2026, a worrying news has emerged for Mumbai Indians. The team’s star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was recently seen at BCCI’s Center of Excellence (CoE), after which questions have started being raised about his fitness. Usually players go there to recover from injury or improve fitness, so Bumrah’s presence has forced the fans to think.
According to reports in The Times of India, Bumrah has not yet joined the Mumbai Indians camp and is present in the CoE in Karnataka. However, it is not yet clear whether he is suffering from any injury or has gone there just for fitness management.
Another reason is also being said that the players who played the final of T20 World Cup 2026 have been allowed to join the franchise camp a little late. Bumrah performed brilliantly in this final, taking 4 wickets and was seen in rhythm throughout the tournament.
Bumrah has been the most reliable bowler of Mumbai Indians for the last several years. In IPL 2025, he took 18 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 17.56 and his economy rate was only 6.67. Mumbai Indians will start their campaign on March 29 against Kolkata Knight Riders. In such a situation, now everyone’s eyes are on when Bumrah will join the team and what is the real reason behind going to the Center of Excellence.
