Amelia Kerr has made cricket history by achieving the record for the most consecutive T20 International innings with 30 or more runs, surpassing both men’s and women’s records. Her latest performance came as New Zealand Women defeated South Africa Women, giving the hosts a decisive lead in their five-match series. Kerr scored a handy 31 from 29 deliveries in Wellington and earlier made an impact with the ball, finishing with figures of 1/32 in her four overs as South Africa posted 159/6. Her all-round display proved crucial as New Zealand chased down the target with six wickets in hand and nine balls to spare, taking a 3-1 lead in the series.
Kerr has smashed her way into the record books with 10 straight T20I innings of 30-plus, eclipsing the previous mark of nine shared by Chamari Athapaththu and Rebecca Blake.
Kerr’s remarkable streak has spanned over multiple series, demonstrating her consistent performance at the international level. It began with 43 off 38 balls against South Africa in 2024, followed by an unbeaten 51 off 46 against Australia in 2025. She continued with scores of 40 off 36 and 66 off 47 in the same series and then scored a career-defining unbeaten 101 off 51 in her first T20I of 2026 against Zimbabwe.
Her form continued with an 82 off 52 against Zimbabwe, and in the current series against South Africa, she has scored 78 off 44, 32 off 18, 30 off 28, and 31 off 29, completing the sequence of 10 consecutive 30-plus innings.
In her last 11 outings, Kerr has racked up 554 runs in 10 innings, maintaining a strike rate of 142. She’s also chipped in with the ball, picking up 12 scalps at an economy rate of 6.74, proving her all-round class.
In the recent Wellington match, South Africa posted a competitive total, but New Zealand chased it down comfortably. Kerr’s steady contributions at the top of the order helped stabilize the innings after an early wicket, while former captain Sophie Devine’s rapid 64 off 34 ensured the team stayed on course for victory.
