When he was asked about his goals for the season, he revealed something about what he is looking forward to in the tournament. The southpaw is not chasing a personal milestone so much as trying to become an integral part of the team.

Sooryavanshi has been hogging the limelight since making his debut last year, and he became a household name after amassing a hundred against the Gujarat Titans. He has been unstoppable since then and played a key role in Team India’s success in the U19 World Cup in Zimbabwe.

When a reporter asked him about how many runs he wanted to score in the new season, Sooryavanshi’s reply lifted the mood.

“If you will ask me, I would say two or three thousand runs,” he said. Jadeja, who was present in the end, liked what Vaibhav said. Once everyone settled down, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi gave a more grounded reply, one that a franchise would like to hear from its player entering a more demanding season.

“I can’t plan how many runs I want to score in the league. We are following the process, and we want to win the trophy,” he added.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has no fixed run target in mind. He is trusting the process and helping Rajasthan Royals become a title contender.

“I am not focusing on personal goals. All the players are focusing on the process, and we want to do well in the new season,” he revealed.

He will open the innings for the one-time champions, but despite being a star, he is not losing sight of the larger goal. It is an encouraging sign for a franchise that is looking to end its title drought.
