Delhi: Former Australian cricket team all-rounder Tom Moody said after Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)'s fifth consecutive win in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) that RCB has shown the ability to perform when it is needed most. Virat Kohli and Company, who were at the bottom of the points table 10 days ago, have continued to perform brilliantly and are in the race for the playoffs.
“Once again, RCB have demonstrated their ability to deliver when needed, setting the stage for an exciting encounter between the two teams,” Moody said on Star Sports.
RCB will face Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings in their final league match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday.
58-year-old Tom further said, “This is really iconic for the entire IPL. You have got two great names in Indian and world cricket here – Dhoni and Kohli. They are both impressive players, have left a big legacy wherever they have been and the interesting thing is that anything can still happen on that table.
For your information, let us tell you that except Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), seven teams are still in the race for a place in the playoffs. KKR is the first team to make it to the top four. Moody said, “Any team can achieve a place in the top four.”
What does the playoff equation say for RCB and CSK?
RCB has won five consecutive matches. In such a situation, when he faces CSK on his home ground, he will have the upper hand. Talking about the chances of playoff, this match is do or die for Bengaluru. If RCB wins, it will remain in the race for the playoffs with 14 points. If they lose the match, they will be left with only 12 points and will be out of the race for the playoffs.
