Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s star Virat Kohli has shared some inspiring words with teammates ahead of IPL 2026, setting the tone for another season.
The side ended their long wait last season and lifted their first title after 18 years, something that still feels fresh. The cash-rich league will kick off from March 28 in Bengaluru, and defending champions RCB will once again be eyeing glory.
In a video posted by RCB’s social media handle, Virat Kohli could be seen addressing his teammates, stressing the effort that went behind last season’s success and the challenge that lies ahead.
“We worked really hard over the last two or three seasons to achieve what we did last year and it’s only going to get tougher because the other teams will come hard at us,” Kohli said in the video.
He then shifted focus towards the present, urging the squad to stay sharp and make the most of every moment during the season.
“We don’t waste these days. We stay ahead, so switch on now. Let’s not waste even a minute of every session we are part of. We must give our 120 percent for these two and a half months. I can see from everyone’s faces that we are excited to be challenged,” he added.
RCB head coach Andy Flower also joined Virat Kohli and spoke about the squad and how the mix of new and experienced players is shaping up ahead of the season.
“We have brought in some great new additions. Integrating those players into the RCB way along with the established group led by Virat and Rajat is an exciting part of building this team. If there is one difference this year we have actually got a star on our shirts,” flower said.
RCB will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in the opening clash at their home venue. The side boasts some of the finest players in world cricket and they will once again be among the favorites to go all the way.
With confidence and form on their side, Virat Kohli’s RCB will be looking to start strong and set the tone early in their title defence.
