Delhi: Now only 8 days are left for IPL 2026 to start. Most of the players have joined their respective teams. Many Sri Lankan players will also be seen showcasing their talent in this tournament. However, before participating in the IPL, he will have to pass a fitness test. Actually, this rule has been made by Sri Lanka Cricket. The board will give NOC (No Objection Certificate) only to those players who pass the fitness test.
Let us tell you that to play in IPL, it is mandatory for foreign players to obtain NOC from the cricket board of their country. BCCI has made this rule. Without this, overseas players are not given a chance to play in the tournament.
About 7 players from Sri Lanka are going to participate in the upcoming season of IPL. These include names of players like Wanindu Hasaranga, Ishaan Malinga and Mathisha Pathirana. SLC will organize a fitness test for these players next week. Players found unfit will have to work on their fitness.
During the T20 World Cup, many of Sri Lanka’s strong players were out of the tournament due to injuries, due to which the entire team had to suffer the consequences. Veteran all-rounder Hasaranga was injured during the match against Ireland and was then ruled out of the tournament. Pathirana was able to participate in three matches in the T20 World Cup and was out of the team due to injury. The Sri Lankan team had traveled till Super-8 in the tournament.
