In the IPL, players earn huge amounts of money—so much so that some players have even crossed the ₹25 crore mark. But do you know how much umpires earn in this cash-rich league?

Let us tell you that in international cricket, umpires’ salaries are fixed according to the format. According to reports, umpires are generally paid on a per-match basis. An on-field umpire earns around ₹4 lakh for each Test match, ₹2.5 lakh for each ODI, and ₹1.25 lakh for each T20I.

On the other hand, in the IPL, an on-field umpire earns ₹3 lakh per match. There are two on-field umpires in a match, along with one third umpire, and all of them receive the same salary per match. Meanwhile, the fourth umpire is paid ₹2 lakh per match. This was seen in the previous season.

So, compared to a T20I match, umpires in the IPL earn more than double the salary.
