Lucknow. To ensure uninterrupted supply of petrol, diesel and LPG in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed the administration to remain on ‘alert mode’. Amid rumors of possible fuel shortage, an intensive campaign is being run across the state to crack down on black marketing and illegal fuel sellers. Under the direct supervision of the Chief Minister, raids have been conducted at thousands of locations within the last one week, causing panic among the illegal traders.

5813 raids and 11 arrests: UP police and administration in action

On the instructions of the Chief Minister, a total of 5813 inspections and raids have been conducted in every corner of the state between March 12 and 17. During this major action, 12 FIRs have been lodged against LPG distributors who violated the rules. At the same time, 74 FIRs have been registered against other mafias and persons involved in black marketing. So far, the police have arrested 11 people in this case, while strict legal action (prosecution) has been initiated against 85 people. Instructions have been given to the local administration that this campaign should not stop.

There will be no shortage of gas: keep an eye on adequate stock and delivery

The government has clarified that the supply system in the state is completely under control and there is no need for the public to panic. Adequate stock of gas cylinders is available with 4108 LPG distributors of UP. Home delivery of refills is being ensured on time as per the booking done by the consumers. Along with this, to maintain balance in the market, the Government of India has also allowed allocation of 20 percent of the total consumption for Commercial Cylinders, which has also provided relief to industries and business establishments.

Control room working 24 hours, officers in the field

A 24-hour ‘control room’ has been set up in the Food Commissioner’s office for moment-to-moment monitoring of fuel and gas distribution. Here the problems to petroleum products are being resolved immediately. Control rooms are active not only at the state level, but also in every district. On the orders of the Chief Minister, District Supply Officer (DSO) and local administration teams are continuously touring the field so that no shopkeeper or distributor can harass the public by showing ‘artificial shortage’. This activeness of the administration has kept the supply system normal in the state.
