Delhi: The current strength of the Indian cricket team is considered to be its batting, but concerns have also started emerging regarding the bowling department. Former off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, while recently discussing the future of the team, said that even though India’s batting can win many trophies in the coming years, the bowling conditions can be challenging.

Dependence on Bumrah’s role

Ashwin especially underlined the importance of Jasprit Bumrah. He believes that Bumrah’s role is decisive in the current white ball team and after him it will not be easy for the team to get a bowler of the same level. He indicated that a large part of the team’s success depends on Bumrah’s performance.

The declining attraction of bowling among the young generation

The former cricketer also said that in today’s era, batting has become more attractive, due to which the inclination of young players is increasing in that direction. According to him, due to continuous big shots and high-scoring matches, bowling seems to be getting less importance, which may affect the team balance in future.

He also added that if this trend continues then there may be a shortage of talented bowlers in the future, which is a matter of concern for any team.
