IPL 2026: The countdown for IPL 2026 has started, the 19th season is going to start from March 28. Performing in this league is considered the biggest challenge for the players. In this league which lasts for about 2 months, players have to maintain form as well as fitness. Due to which an Indian player has taken a big decision. This player has stopped drinking alcohol. Now he wants to make his team champion.
Star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal from India has taken a big decision before IPL 2026. Yuzvendra Chahal has completely given up drinking alcohol and is now focusing exclusively on fitness. He made this disclosure on the YouTube channel of former South African batsman AB de Villiers. In the IPL, Chahal is a part of the Punjab Kings team, which reached the final last season, but lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by just 6 runs.
Yuzvendra Chahal revealed, 'It has been more than six months since I have given up drinking alcohol. Now I am 35 years old, so I want to be more active and give my 150% for my team. As a senior player, I want people to learn something from me in IPL. He says that now the first thing to be taken care of is the body, so that one can contribute better on the field. He is the highest wicket-taker in IPL, but has not been able to win the IPL title yet.
During this conversation, Yuzvendra Chahal also expressed disappointment over the defeat of the last final. He said that we missed Marco Janson in the final because he was not in the team. If he had been there, we would have won the championship. Actually, Yanson had left early to join the South African team for preparations for the World Test Championship final against Australia. Apart from this he told that he was also not completely fit. Chahal said, 'I was a little disappointed with myself. After the match against KKR, my rib was fractured, and later my finger joint was also injured. That's why I was not able to bowl my proper leg-spin in the final.
