Jasprit Bumrah and Akshar Patel are continuously performing well but despite this their salary in the central contract has reduced, now there are reports that their salary is going to increase. This issue is being discussed among BCCI officials. According to reports, BCCI wants that the salary of Bumrah, who is in A category of the central contract, should not be reduced. BCCI's Central A contract fetches Rs 5 crore annually. BCCI has abolished the A+ category under which Bumrah used to get Rs 7 crore.
According to the report of Times of India, BCCI is finding a way how to give money to Bumrah. A BCCI source said, 'The board is finding a solution as to how Bumrah should be given his due money. There are some other players whose salary has been reduced and there may be a change in the central contract now. If BCCI makes changes, then BCCI can also give more salary to the vice-captain of T20 team, Akshar Patel. The surprising thing is that Akshar Patel is in Grade C category and his salary is only one crore. Axar Patel had an important contribution in winning 2 T20 World Cups and Champions Trophy and in such a situation, many cricket experts had raised the voice of reducing the salary of this player but now BCCI can increase his salary.
